Hooked on a Good Book

My students received a big box of new books last month.  My Weird School Daze, National Geographic Readers, Ready-To-Read Stories of Famous Americans, Shredderman, and Stink were a few of the titles included. These are all high interest series that my students have enjoyed. We would like to thank all the people who gave to our Donors Choose project. Their support and donations have added these great books to our classroom library.

Time to Play Outside

The students were very excited to get to open four boxes from our Time to Play Outside Donors Choose grant. About half of our materials came today. We are ready for some cooler weather and fun days at recess.

Grandparents Breakfast

WOW!!! We had a great turn out for our Grandparents Breakfast. Over 500 grandparents joined us for breakfast this week. We would like to thank all our grandparents who came to visit our school.

iLearn with our iPad

I am now teaching a Tech Savvy generation. One of the newest pieces of technology is the iPad. The iPad helps to integrate up-to-date technology into our classroom. Different apps for the iPad help to meet all my students' learning levels. Our class got a new iPad from donations to Donors Choose. We would like to thank you for your donations and support.

Welcome to 2nd Grade

I would like to welcome everyone to our classroom blog.  School will be starting soon and I am working to get everything ready.  I would like to share a little about myself. This is my 20th year to teach.  I have been at White Station Elementary for 17 years. My undergraduate degree was received from the University of  Tennessee at Martin. I attended Bethel College and Union University for my master’s degree.
