This was the first time the second graders could try out for the Math Hall-of-Fame. We have been practicing since November. We are so excited to have 8 students entering the Math Hall-of-Fame this semester.

Read Across America Week


Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program to celebrate reading on March 2, the birthday of beloved children's author Dr. Seuss. This year we had guest reader come read Dr. Seuss books to our classes and there was a Dr. Seuss drawing every day.

Black History Program


Our class performed in the "Enlightening Our Pathways and Inspiring Our Future!" celebration of African Americans of the Arts.  Several of our classmates performed in Ray Charles' Band. The whole class performed Nampaya Omma and Somebody's Knocking.

A Visit from a Firefighter

While studying community helpers and reading a story about firefighters we had a visit from Mr. Joe Henderson. He is a member of our local Memphis Fire Department.
